Unit IX Vocabulary and Concepts Presentation - this will be a work in progress throughout the unit.

Jan 24
We finished looking at the notes from the previous day on the 3 major issues in developmental psychology.
Students began the developmental unit with an activity on age (based on decades).

Jan 25
Students drew in the chart on the stages of development according to Kohlberg, Erikson, and Piaget from the text (page. 463).
We also watched a video on Piaget's stages of development (the one with children exhibiting the stages).

Jan 26
Students completed an activity on Piaget's stages of Cognitive Development and games / toys.

Jan 29
There was a reading check on modules 45 - 48 today.
Students also received an activity to determine Piaget's stages of cognitive development by looking at scenarios and applying the knowledge.

Jan 30
Students will be afforded time to complete the activity from last class. Here is the key for the Piaget formative activity.
We will then cover attachment (Harlow and Ainsworth).

Jan. 31
We went over the reading check from Monday.
We then delved into gender and socialization with a group activity.

Feb 1
Students will work and complete the group activity from the previous day.

There will be a reading check on Monday, Feb. 5. It will cover modules 49 - 54.

We went over Kohlberg's levels of moral thinking today with an activity where you were given a scenario and had to come up with how the three levels of moral thinking would apply.

Feb 6
We will finish the Kohlberg activity today in class and move on to Erikson's stages of psychosocial development.

Students will complete this activity in class.
Assessment of Friday - FRQ concepts are Erikson (stages of psychosocial development), Kohlberg (levels of moral thinking), and Baumrind (parenting styles)

Students completed a reading check quiz fo modules 55 - 57.
After the quiz, we covered slides 18 - 21 in the ongoing presentation. Today was about humanism with a focus on Rogers and his person centered theory.

Today students will complete an activity on reliability and validity of personality assessments.

Feb 21
We discussed the reliability and validity of personality assessments using the ongoing Google slides vocabulary and concepts presentation (from Feb 13). We also looked at the person - situation controversy on the presentation. (Slides 22 - 30). We also looked at the Big Five personality factors from the textbook today.

Feb 22
We will study positive psychology today. We will look at slides 31 - 39. A look at happiness from different cultures and through positive psychology.

Feb 23
Unit X Test today. It is multiple choice ONLY. NO FRQ this time.

Students worked in pairs to work with Gardner's multiple intelligences (linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist) and Sternberg's three intelligences (practical, analytical, & creative).

We discussed module 69 (other mood disorders). We also watched a video on Conversion disorder.
We also read a story about someone with antisocial personality disorder.
